We’re delighted to welcome you to The Lakes Route 2026—your season opener and a signature Route GT experience. Two days of thrilling roads, wild scenery, and relaxed connection await you.
Your Stay
You’ll be staying at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal for the event, with one night included as standard. Your Stay includes.
- Secure parking
- Three‑course private dining
- Full breakfast
- Pool and gym access
- Optional Sunday roast lunch
For those who haven’t already added the night before to their booking, please let us know if you’d like to include it. It’s at the same hotel, the Castle Green keeping your stay seamless from start to finish.
Saturday – Tracing Waters
Your adventure begins on Saturday with our drivers briefing before we set off on a scenic loop through the Lake District. The day features:
- A591 Dunmail Raise Pass
- Honister Pass
- Lunch stop in Whinlatter Forest
- Austhwaite Brow
- lakeside break to take in the views
We return to the hotel in the late afternoon, where you’ll enjoy a relaxed evening and a three‑course dinnerincluded as part of your stay.
Sunday – Passing New Hights
Sunday morning takes us up Kirkstone Pass (subject to reopening) and across the sweeping ascent of Hartside Pass, before looping back through the North Pennines returning to the Castle Green Hotel for a short closing event, giving you time to unwind, share stories, and enjoy a final moment together before heading home.
An optional extra Sunday roast lunch is available — please let us know if you’d like to add this to your booking.
We’ve included a bonus route for you to enjoy in your own time, offering one last chance to drive at your own pace.
