Driving Tour - March 2026

Lakes Route 2026 Driving Tour — Event Write‑Up

The Lakes Route 2026 Driving Tour delivered another unforgettable weekend of driving, scenery and great company. An incredible mix of machinery joined us — McLarens, Aston Martins, Ferraris, 911s and many more standout cars that made the convoy feel truly special.

Exclusive Parking, Friday Arrival & Welcome Evening

From the moment guests arrived, we had exclusive use of a smaller car park at The Castle Green Hotel, reserved solely for our group for the entire weekend. With 22 cars lined up together in our own private, secure area, it felt like having our own personal car meet every time we returned — a brilliant touch that set the tone for a relaxed, premium stay.

Friday evening built on that atmosphere perfectly. Many guests chose to arrive the night before, creating a warm social setting at the hotel, which served as our base for the whole weekend. Keeping everything in one place made the experience calm and effortless — no packing, no relocating, just a smooth, comfortable stay from start to finish. It was the ideal chance for new faces to settle in and for returning guests to reconnect over food, drinks and shared anticipation for the weekend ahead.

Saturday Driving Highlights: Honister, Whinlatter & Ault Whits Brow

Saturday morning greeted us with beautiful sunshine — and, inevitably, a few extra people on the roads. Even so, the group made smooth progress into the fells, taking on Honister Pass, surrounded by dramatic rock faces and sweeping views. From there we continued over Whinlatter Pass, dropping down into the forest for our lunch stop.

The afternoon opened up into faster, flowing A‑roads before we climbed across Ault Whits Brow, a vast, open stretch with panoramic views in every direction. We rounded off the day with a scenic pause by the water — a perfect moment to take in the surroundings before heading back.

Returning to Castle Green Hotel, guests had time to unwind before a refined three‑course dinner — a relaxed, social evening that rounded off the day perfectly.

Sunday Driving Highlights: Kirkstone, Hartside & Pennines

Sunday brought more great weather and another strong driving day. With Kirkstone Pass still closed, we diverted around Ullswater and headed up the incredible Hartside Pass, a favourite for many thanks to its long, sweeping ascent and wide‑open views. A brief morning stop set us up for a brilliant run across the Pennines, enjoying mile after mile of empty, flowing roads.

Back at the hotel, we hosted our closing event, giving everyone a final chance to gather and wind down. Guests who had the time joined us for a relaxed Sunday lunch before sadly departing and making their way home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a truly great weekend.

The Lakes once again delivered everything we love — big landscapes, big smiles, and a convoy of cars that turned heads everywhere we went.
