THE TOUR IN REVIEW
RGT

More than 1,000 miles of Scotland, shared as one four-day journey.

Starting near Dumfries, the 2025 Scottish Route linked the Southern Uplands, Highlands, coastal roads, lochside sections and the Cairngorms before the final run south. Twenty cars joined the tour, including Jaguars, Audis, Porsches and a number of rarer entries.

Most guests arrived the night before, giving the group time to settle in before the first briefing. Radios, satnavs and Route GT support helped the convoy flow, but the lasting memory was the group itself — four days of driving that quickly became a shared experience rather than a list of roads.

FOUR DAYS IN SCOTLAND

Four Days. One Story.

From the Southern Uplands to the Highlands, a full remote loop and a final Cairngorms run toward the Borders.

Day One · Southern Uplands

Leaving Dumfries Behind.

After the drivers’ briefing and equipment setup, the group headed into the Southern Uplands on a mix of technical climbs and fast-flowing roads. The opening day established the pace of the tour before finishing at a coastal retreat for the first three-course dinner.

It was the point where twenty separate arrivals started to feel like one journey.

The first day was about finding the rhythm — on the road and as a group.
Day Two · Deeper Into The Highlands

The Route Changed. The Day Still Delivered.

Day two moved deeper into the Highlands through larger scenery and castle views. A planned ferry crossing was cancelled, forcing the route to change, but the alternative roads kept the day moving and delivered a different version of the same objective.

The group finished at a coastal spa hotel for a two-night stay, giving the middle of the tour a settled base.

A cancelled ferry changed the plan without changing the purpose of the day.
Day Three · Highland Loop

Remote Roads And A Familiar Return.

The third day was a full Highland loop using remote single-track roads, sweeping coastal sections and cinematic viewpoints. Scenic bridges and small cafés broke up the route before the group returned to the same hotel.

By then the tour had found its natural rhythm: long miles during the day and an easy, familiar evening base afterwards.

The road got more remote just as the group became more familiar.
Day Four · Cairngorms & Borders

One Last Proper Drive South.

The final day crossed national-park roads, historic passes and the Forth Bridge before descending through the Cairngorms toward the Borders. A final regroup and farewell stop marked the end of the shared route.

The cars left in different directions, but after more than 1,000 miles the group no longer felt like the one that had arrived near Dumfries four days earlier.

The tour ended at the farewell stop; the shared miles were the part everyone kept.
