Four days from Dumfries to Oban, Nairn and Edinburgh — Highland roads, strong hospitality, standout cars and a convoy that quickly became a group.
The 2026 Scottish Route delivered four days of clear weather, memorable roads and character-filled hotels. The convoy mixed grand tourers, performance cars, rally-inspired machinery and special builds, including a Bentley GT, Aston Martin, M3 Touring and several GR Yaris models.
The strongest memory, though, was the group itself. The tour quickly developed the easy humour and camaraderie that makes a multi-day Route GT experience feel bigger than the route alone, supported by strong meals, distinctive hotels and long Highland driving days.
From the opening induction near Dumfries to the final miles outside Edinburgh.
A relaxed drivers’ induction near Dumfries set the tone before the route moved onto Delveen Pass and through the uplands. A farm-shop lunch broke up the first driving stage before the group continued past Glasgow and toward Loch Lomond.
The afternoon finished with a coastal run to the first hotel, sunshine on the water and the sense that the group had already settled into the pace of the tour.
Glencoe opened the second morning under clear skies, with snow still visible on the higher ground. The route continued west to Mallaig for lunch before turning back over the same rewarding road in reverse.
Fort William and the long run north completed the day, ending at Nairn for a two-night coastal stay.
The third day was a full Highland loop built around pure driving: long flowing sections, technical stretches, elevation changes and wide-open views. Snow remained on the peaks while the weather stayed bright and clear.
Crossing Kylesku Bridge became one of the tour’s standout visual moments before the route continued through a succession of remote Highland roads.
The final leg headed south through the Cairngorms, with open moorland and long sweeping roads leading to a lunch stop at the ski centre. A local distillery provided the final cultural stop before the convoy continued toward Edinburgh.
Just outside the city the official drive ended, followed by a closing gathering, a toast to the group and a small memento for each participant.
