A pre‑briefing and safety-guide for those wanting more than a drive
Whether you’re exploring Route GT for the first time or preparing for an upcoming tour, this guide gives you a clear sense of how the day works and how to get the most from the experience. It’s not a rulebook, it’s a warm‑up. A chance to understand the format, the flow, and the little details that make a Route GT drive feel effortless, enjoyable, and uniquely yours.
Welcome to Your Driving Tour
Route GT is designed for anyone who enjoys great roads, good company, and the freedom to explore at their own pace. Whether you’re joining a tour or you’ve taken part before, this guide outlines what the experience is all about.
Route GT isn’t just a drive it’s a shared adventure. Some guests come for the roads, others for the atmosphere, and many for the chance to disconnect from the everyday and enjoy something a little different.
Every tour is shaped by the people who join it, the roads we choose, and the relaxed, flexible format that lets each driver make the day their own. Our team is always on hand throughout the event to support, guide, and help where needed.
Get the Most Out of Your Route GT Driving Tour
Route GT is a self-navigational touring assembly. That means no pressure, and no fixed formation. You’re free to drive at your own pace, stop when it suits you, and make the day your own.
Many guests naturally group together and that’s great but it’s entirely optional. We simply ask that you drive for yourself, not just follow the car ahead. The best drives happen when you’re tuned into your own rhythm.
Stops are planned to allow enough time to regroup, but you’re never expected to wait or rush.
Event Guide
Your printed guide includes everything you need for the day: waypoints, stops, and QR codes linking to Google Maps. It also provides a full map of the route, with outlined fuel stops, lunch and hotel details, and written guidance for each route to help you navigate confidently and at your own pace.
Fuel stops aren’t programmed into the route, but we’ve suggested options in the guide including available RON ratings.
Red addresses in the guide take you directly to key stops like lunch or the hotel. White addresses are way points to follow the suggested route.
Radios and Satnav Use During the Driving Tour
Radios add a lot to the Route GT experience a mix of practical updates and light‑hearted banter.
avoid phrases like “not clear.” A broken transmission or a split‑second delay can change the meaning entirely, so always confirm visibility for yourself before committing to any move. Radios are helpful, but they’re never a substitute for your own judgement.
Your satnav is just as important. If you prefer digital navigation, scan the QR codes and follow the route just tap “continue” at waypoints to stay aligned. If you drift off‑route, keep the satnav running and it’ll guide you back without fuss.
Above all, never let any equipment distract you from the road. Your focus should always be on driving safely and staying aware of your surroundings.
Driving Tour Safety
The roads we choose are scenic, varied, and often technical — which means conditions can change quickly. We trust every guest to drive within their limits. If a section feels too quick, too tight, or simply not for you, ease off. There’s no pressure to keep pace.
Visibility and awareness are key. Always confirm for yourself before committing to an overtake or manoeuvre, even if someone calls it out on the radio. If you need to stop, find a safe place to pull in. If something doesn’t feel right with the car, the route, or the conditions take a moment. The team is always nearby if you need support.
The best drives aren’t the fastest or the flashiest, they’re the ones where everyone gets there smiling.
Your Car, Insurance & Breakdown Cover
Before joining a Route GT drive, your car must be fit for use — roadworthy, well‑maintained, and ready for a mix of scenic and technical roads. If you’ve recently had work done or something feels off, a quick check or service is always a smart move.
You must have appropriate insurance for touring use, including any additional drivers. If you’re unsure, check with your provider.
While not mandatory, we strongly suggest having breakdown cover for the region we’re driving through. It’s one of those things you hope you’ll never need, but it can make a huge difference if something unexpected happens
Final Thought
Route GT is less about the destination and more about the experience. So take a breath, set your own pace, and let the road unfold.
