General Information
RouteGT LTD (the ‘Event’) is NOT A RACE or time trial.
Participants must not compete at any level with each other or other road users. Anyone found doing so will be removed from the Event and no refund will be issued. You must drive with care and attention for your own safety and the safety of others.
RouteGT (the ‘Events’) is not a guided tour – it is a navigational road trip where you will be given a daily suggested route and be expected to navigate with your own map/Sat Nav system. Cars may travel in groups along suggested routes, but at all times you must take all routes of your own choosing.
You must understand the risks involved in participating in this type of event. It is an adventure and can therefore be dangerous. You are responsible for everything you do and we accept NO responsibility whatsoever.
all persons booked under the lead name of the booking agree to the Terms.
Age Restrictions
All participants must be 18 or over on the first day of the Event.
Entry Fees
Entry fees must be paid in full by the deadlines as set at time of booking, (This will normally be 90 days before the event.) Deposits and entry fees are non-refundable.
The entry fee does not include any personal expenses during the Event, including but not limited to fuel, tolls, food, drink, fines, repair costs or any other expenses of any kind. Any unpaid charges will be invoiced back to the relevant participants.
If, for any reason, you decide to withdraw either before or during the Event, your fee is neither transferable nor refundable. We advise you to take out suitable insurance if you think this may be a problem.
The Event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to the Event.
Administration Charges
Once submitted; Entrants, Vehicle and Bookings such as room or meals are final. Any amendments may result in an administration fee (at the discretion of the Event organisers).
Drivers, Vehicles and Insurance
All drivers must hold a valid full licence, international driving permit where required and valid passport and any visa required for the duration of the event. It is the sole responsibility of all participants.
Participants are fully responsible to ensure the vehicle entered to the event is properly licensed, adhere to all law and specification required in the country/state of travel and have correct permission for use for the event and travel.
You must have and maintain appropriate Insurance cover though out the duration of the event, At all times it should be disclosed to relevant insurances such as but not limited to motor liability, personal liability and medical insurances that you are participating in the event.
Documentation
The following documents will be required and presented at time of registration to the event.
Driving Licence and/or permits – all drivers
Relevant Insurance – for all drivers
V5C (log book), ‘Permission for use’ or ‘vehicle on hire’ certificate
MOT certificate – as the condition of a vehicle may deteriorate within the period of an MOT, it is your responsibility to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition for the event.
Valid Passport and Visa – for all participants
Although RouteGT may ask for proofs of documents it remains the sole responsibility of the participants to ensure that their documents are in order and valid during the full duration of the event.
RouteGT Branding
You agree to have RouteGT, and any official Event sponsors’ stickers placed on your vehicle during the Event. All stickers are non-permanent, easy to remove and will not leave any damage to your vehicle. RouteGT do not accept any responsible for any claims of damage to your vehicle because of applying or removing such stickers.
Local Law
All participants must drive safely and always obey the specific regulations for each country visited. This including but is not limited to, speed regulations, highway laws, vehicle safety laws and laws relating to the possession or use of alcohol or drugs.
Some countries require you to carry certain equipment. It is up to you to ensure that you are fully up to date and equipped with the driving requirements for each country you visit.
Accommodation
For teams of two, accommodation will be either a twin or double room, The Event organisers will endeavour to provide the requested room type (either twin or double) but cannot guarantee this. If requested by each hotel, a credit card must be provided as a security deposit when checking in. It will be charged at check out for any additional costs (such as food and drinks) or damages.
Eurotunnel le Shuttle / Ferry Crossings
All Eurotunnel le Shuttle / Ferry crossings are pre-booked and provided as per event description on the RoutGT website. RouteGT do not hold any responsibility for missed connections due to delays, If any participants miss a planned EuroTunnel Train / Ferry then they are subject to a possible administration fee from the transport company which they will be expected to pay.
Conduct
All participants must always conduct themselves responsibly and in an appropriate manner. You must not drive whilst under the influence of alcohol (or any other intoxicating substance) or drive if your ability to do so safely is compromised by illness, lack of adequate rest, or any other condition. Any illegal behaviour will result in the cancellation of your participation without refund.
Responsibility
The Event organisers accept no responsibility for the consequences of you being refused entrance into or exit out of any country, city, venue or premises during the Event. Any additional costs incurred are solely the participants’ responsibility.
Some countries may refuse you entry at the border if they deem your vehicle to be too loud, or not in keeping with local law/legislation and/or your driving approaching the border has been not been in an acceptable manor.
Delays
RouteGT cannot be held responsible of delays outside of our control. Delays to travel either before, during and after whether foreseen or not, can in no way be deemed to the responsibility of the organiser. Any additional costs due to delays are solely the participants regardless of how the delays were brought about.
Refunds
If you fail to complete any part of the route for any reason, become unable to continue or/and decide to withdraw at any stage, you will not be entitled to a refund.
Changes/Cancellation
The Event organisers reserve the right to either change the Event schedule or cancel the Event at any time.
Image Rights
All participants consent to be photographed and to be included in any filming of the Event. You consent to the use of your name, image, likeness, voice and biographical material in connection with any and all footage, publicity and related promotional material. Participants are only entitled to take photographs and film footage of the Event for non-commercial purposes.
Branding
You are not permitted to use the ‘RouteGT’ logos or branding under any circumstance other than placing stickers on your vehicle during an event. This includes any printed material or websites.
Intellectual Property Rights Including Copyright
a) The names, images and logos identifying RouteGT and all associated companies or third parties and any products and services are proprietary marks of these parties. Nothing in the Terms shall be construed as conferring to you any licence or right under any intellectual property right of any of the above parties unless expressly stated otherwise.
b) All copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in the Website (including the design, arrangement and look and feel) and all material, software or content supplied as part of the Website, shall remain at all times our property or the property of our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law.
Copying the Event
By agreeing to our Terms, you are agreeing that you will not organise, invest or fund a rally or similar driving event which attempts to replicate this Event or any of its unique features, activities and components or which seeks to benefit in any way from the Organiser’s branding or goodwill. Doing so will result in legal action.
Force Majeure
The Event organisers cannot accept liability or refund monies if the Event must be amended or cancelled due to any circumstances outside our control or that we could not foresee or avoid. Such as (but not limited to) war, threat of war, riot or civil unrest, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, Eurotunnel/ferry delays or traffic delays. Neither can we be held responsible if certain attractions change their opening times or are closed.
Terms and Conditions Changes
The Event organisers reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be deemed to have accepted the amended terms and conditions by participating in the Event.
Notice of Indemnity
You will indemnify the Event organisers, its officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents, representatives, and sponsors against any and all claims, lawsuits and causes of action brought against them by any third party as a result of your action or participation in the Event, including without limitation, your violation of any laws or regulations or your breach of these Terms and Conditions of entry.
Violation of Terms
If any participants violate any of the above terms and conditions or refuse to follow the instructions given prior or during the Event by the Event organisers, you may be prohibited from any or further participation in the Event.
Law
These terms and conditions and your participation in the Event are governed by English law and you submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
