Four Days • Epic Roads • Unforgettable Moments

May 2026

The Experience

The Route GT Scottish Tour delivered four unforgettable days of perfect weather, breathtaking roads, character‑packed hotels, and a convoy that turned heads at every stop. The line‑up was as varied as it was impressive: grand tourers, performance icons, rally‑inspired machines, and a handful of very special builds. Among the standouts were the Bentley GT, an Aston Martin, a ballistic M3 Touring that became a crowd favourite, and the ever‑popular Yaris GRs — just a glimpse of the fantastic mix of metal that made this tour so special.

But as always, it was the people who defined the experience. A brilliant group full of energy, humour, and genuine camaraderie from the first mile to the last. The atmosphere throughout the tour was warm, lively, and full of shared moments. with Dave and Scott providing plenty of laughs along the way.

Fine dining, three‑course meals, hearty lunches, and premium hotels full of character ensured everyone was well fed and well rested. With sunshine following us across the Highlands, it felt as though Scotland had rolled out the red carpet just for us.

Below is the journey as it unfolded.

Day 1 — Dumfries to Oban

Drivers’ Induction, Delveen Pass & Coastal Run

The tour began with a relaxed drivers’ induction in the hotel lounge near Dumfries. Guests gathered for introductions, and a warm welcome that set the tone for the days ahead. Radios were set up, the route was discussed, and the group quickly bonded, the perfect start to the adventure.

Once on the road, Day 1 delivered its first major highlight: Delveen Pass. A fantastic stretch of tarmac with flowing bends and dramatic scenery, it gave everyone an early taste of what the tour was all about. The route climbed through the uplands to lunch at a fantastic local farm shop and kitchen, where drivers enjoyed fresh local produce and a relaxed break before continuing north.

After lunch, the route took us past Glasgow and up toward Loch Lomond, stopping at the top of the pass to admire the view and the beautiful weather. From there, the road carried us through a stunning coastal section — sunlight glinting on the water, open views, and a relaxed run toward our first hotel. The convoy settled into a smooth rhythm, and the day closed with a sense of excitement for what lay ahead.

Day 2 — Oban to Nairn

Glencoe, Mallaig & Fort William

Day 2 opened with the dramatic scenery of Glencoe, its towering walls still dusted with snow‑caps glowing in the morning sun. The convoy looked incredible weaving through the valley, and the clear skies made it one of the most photogenic moments of the tour.

We continued west toward Mallaig, enjoying one of Scotland’s most rewarding stretches of road — fast, flowing, and framed by rugged coastal scenery. Lunch in Mallaig gave everyone a chance to relax, enjoy the harbour atmosphere, and share stories from the morning’s drive.

After lunch, we turned back and enjoyed the same spectacular road in reverse — a second helping of one of the best driving sections in the region. The afternoon run toward Fort William was equally impressive, with long straights, sweeping bends, and mountain views that seemed endless.

The final stretch north to Nairn was smooth and scenic, setting us up perfectly for a two‑night stay on the coast.

Day 3 — Highland Loop

via Kylesku Bridge

Day 3 took us deep into the Highlands on a full circular route built around pure driving enjoyment. The mountains around us still carried traces of snow on their peaks, adding a striking contrast to the bright blue skies. The route delivered everything a driver could want: long, flowing sections, tight technical stretches, elevation changes, and endless views that made every mile memorable.

A standout moment was crossing the iconic Kylesku Bridge — an unmistakable Highland landmark and the perfect spot for photos and a brief pause before pressing on. With the sun high and visibility perfect, it became one of the defining images of the tour.

The afternoon continued with more superb roads, each section offering its own rhythm and character. Whether guests completed the full loop or dipped in and out, Day 3 was all about the joy of driving in one of the most spectacular regions in the world.

Day 4 — Nairn to Edinburgh

Cairngorms & Distillery Stop

The final leg carried us south through the Cairngorm Mountains, where the higher peaks still held snow on their tops, creating a stunning contrast against the bright spring sunshine. Wide vistas, open moorland, and long, sweeping roads made this a fitting finale to the tour.

We stopped for lunch at the ski centre, enjoying panoramic views and a relaxed final meal together on the road. From there, we continued south to a local distillery — complete with a great café and the chance to pick up a bottle of Scotland’s finest craftsmanship as a keepsake. It was a perfect cultural stop and a moment to unwind before the final run.

The convoy then rolled toward Edinburgh, enjoying the last shared miles of the tour. Just outside the city, the official driving portion came to a close — engines cooling, smiles all round, and a shared sense that we’d just completed something truly special.

Closing Event.

To finish, we held a short closing gathering, bringing everyone together one last time. A toast was raised in appreciation of the group, thanking each guest for joining us and for bringing such a fantastic atmosphere to the tour. Each participant received a small signature gift as a memento — a reminder of the roads driven, the laughs shared, and the memories made.

The event wrapped up with warm handshakes, hugs, and genuine goodbyes — the kind that only follow a shared experience like this. With that, the group parted ways, already talking about the next adventure.
