Isle of Man driving tour: drive the full TT circuit in 3 days

Some places you visit. Some you drive. The Isle of Man is one of the few islands where the roads themselves are the attraction, and in April 2027 we’re taking a group of 20 cars there for the Manx Route.

We didn’t plan this tour from a desk. We went to the island to test the route and to experience it the way our guests will, and we left knowing it was built for Route GT. Now it’s a tour, and it builds towards one morning: driving the full TT circuit and lining your car up in the pit lane.

Route GT Manx Route driving tour on the Isle of Man

The Manx Route at a glance

  • Dates: 16–18 April 2027 (3 days, 2 nights)
  • Group size: maximum 20 cars
  • From: £549 per person, with a £300 deposit
  • Includes: return Liverpool to Douglas ferry, TT Museum entry, hotels, dinners, sat nav and radio loan, driver briefing and closing event

Why the Isle of Man for a driving tour?

Few places mix motorsport history with roads you can actually drive. The A18 Snaefell Mountain Road forms part of the TT course and crosses the hilliest parts of the island. That makes this a TT circuit driving tour in the most literal sense: you’re on public roads that motorsport fans know by name.

It’s also a road trip in your own car, with coastline, hills and small-island scale. You can cover a lot of ground without feeling rushed.

Day by day

Day 1: the ferry, the TT Museum and arrival

The tour starts with the Liverpool to Douglas crossing. Watching the Isle of Man rise out of the horizon is a moment every enthusiast should experience. Once on the island, your entry to the TT Museum sets the scene for the days ahead. Then you check in at Comis Hotel & Golf Resort and meet the group for dinner.

You can add an extra night before the crossing if you’d like to start the weekend rested. On our recce, we gave ourselves space to reset before the island and the long days of testing.

Day 2: the island’s best roads

This is the day to enjoy the island’s roads at a relaxed pace, including the Southern 100 roads. For lunch on our recce, Victory Café became an instant Route GT favourite for its food, its people and its setting.

Day 3: the full TT circuit and the pit lane photo

Day 3 morning is dedicated to the famous circuit. If you like to be out while the roads are at their quietest, there’s an optional pre-breakfast drive. If you’d rather have a lie-in, don’t worry: the main circuit drive means you won’t miss anything.

Then comes the moment you’ll want to remember: the cars grid up together in the pit lane for a group photo shoot, with your car lined up among the others at one of motorsport’s most famous addresses. Our last stop on the island is lunch at Creg-ny-Baa, and then it’s the ferry home.

This is a drive, not a race. Every driver follows the road rules in force and drives at a pace that suits them and the conditions.

What’s different about a Route GT tour

  • Tested roads. We drive every route ourselves before we offer it to you.
  • Small groups. Twenty cars means you’ll get to know everyone.
  • Your car, your drive. The tour is non-competitive, you stay in control, and our team looks after the navigation and the detail. Read how a group driving tour works.
  • Photos worth keeping. The pit lane shoot gives you a picture of your car at the TT that most people never get.
  • Hotels chosen for drivers. Comis gives you a spa and a golf course for the evenings.

Taking your car to the Isle of Man

The ferry is part of the adventure, and it’s included in the tour price. Our guide to taking your car to the Isle of Man explains how the crossing works.

Booking, deposits and PTS protection

Deposits for the Manx Route open in October, and places are limited to 20 cars. We’re a PTS member (number 6574), so your payments are protected. Read how we’re PTS protected.

Questions about the Manx Route

Do I need to bring my own car?
Yes. It’s a driving tour in your own car, and the ferry is included.

Do we drive the whole TT circuit?
Yes. Day 3 morning is dedicated to the full circuit, with a group photo in the pit lane. There’s an optional pre-breakfast drive if you want the quietest roads, and you won’t miss anything if you’d rather have a lie-in.

Is it a race?
No. Route GT tours are non-competitive, and each driver is responsible for driving safely and obeying road laws. Our terms explain this.

Can I join on my own?
Yes. Solo drivers, couples and friends all join our tours.

What’s not included?
Check the inclusions on the tour page. Fuel, insurance and breakdown cover are usually your own responsibility.
