DRIVING TOURS BUILT PROPERLY. NOW PROTECTED PROPERLY.
Great driving tours should be about the roads, the hotels and the company, not worrying about your booking. We’re proud to share that Route GT Ltd is now a PTS member, so you can book our hosted driving tours with extra confidence.
At Route GT, we believe driving tours should be done properly. We test every route, choose every hotel and work through the timings and detail before you arrive, so all you have to do is meet the group and enjoy the drive. Our tours take sports and supercar owners across the UK, the Isle of Man and Europe, on roads that are worth travelling for.
That care shouldn’t stop at the road. When you book a Route GT driving tour, you’re trusting us with your plans and your money, and we want to look after both properly. Joining PTS is one more way we’re doing that, and it’s a step we’re pleased to have taken.
So what does it mean in practice? PTS is a UK travel industry membership organisation, and its members use PTS financial protection for customer payments. It means there’s an independent organisation behind our bookings, and you can check our membership yourself before you pay. Our member number is 6574.
Here’s our PTS membership badge.
CHECK IT YOURSELF. PTS MEMBER 6574.
Route GT Ltd is PTS member number 6574. You can confirm it before you book on the PTS website, or by calling PTS on 0207 190 9988. Any genuine PTS member will have a number, and should show the PTS logo on their website and booking confirmation. If a company can’t give you one, ask why.
WHAT IS PTS. AND WHY DOES IT MATTER.
PTS is a UK travel industry membership organisation. Its members use PTS financial protection for the money their customers pay, rather than leaving it to chance if something goes wrong. For you, that means a few things:
- Protected payments. Your deposit and balance are covered by PTS financial protection.
- Independent backing. An organisation outside Route GT stands behind our bookings, so you aren’t relying on our word alone.
- Higher standards. Membership means meeting PTS’s requirements for how we operate.
- Somewhere to turn. If you ever have a concern about your booking, you can contact PTS directly.
PTS isn’t a government regulator, and it doesn’t replace your own insurance. It’s one layer of protection, and a useful one.
YOUR TOUR IS PLANNED. SO IS YOUR PROTECTION.
When you book a Route GT driving tour, a deposit secures your place and the balance is due before departure. We accept major credit cards and bank transfers, and our full payment terms and cancellation policy are provided when you book. PTS membership means those payments sit within PTS’s financial protection arrangements. If you’d like to know exactly how your booking is covered, ask us before you pay and we’ll explain.
THE RULES BEHIND IT. IN PLAIN ENGLISH.
In the UK, travel businesses selling certain holidays have legal duties under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, usually shortened to the Package Travel Regulations. When a booking counts as a package, the company running it has to meet standards that include:
- Financial protection. The organiser must have protection in place so that your money is refunded if the business fails before you travel.
- Clear information. You must be given the key details of what you’re booking before you commit.
- Responsibility for the trip. The organiser is responsible for delivering the package they sold you.
- Fair rules on changes. There are limits on price rises and rules about what happens if the tour changes significantly or has to be cancelled.
Whether a particular booking counts as a package depends on what it includes, and the rules are worth reading for yourself on GOV.UK. If you’re unsure about your booking, ask us. We’d rather answer the question before you pay than after.
WE DO THE PLANNING. NOW WE PROTECT THE PAYMENTS TOO.
Route GT builds hosted group driving tours around roads worth travelling for. Public tours run from two to five days, and each one comes with tested routes, carefully chosen hotels, evening dinners, navigation and support, and a hosted group from the first mile to the last. Joining PTS means we look after your money with the same care we put into the route.
FIND YOUR NEXT ROAD. THE 2027 DRIVING TOURS.

- The Highlands Route (May 2027): long, cinematic miles through the remote Scottish Highlands
- The Welsh Route (June 2027): epic mountain roads, sweeping valleys and dramatic passes

ASK BEFORE YOU BOOK. ANY TOUR. ANY OPERATOR.
This applies to any driving holiday or tour operator, not just ours.
- Ask for their PTS number (or the equivalent for any other scheme) and confirm it with the organisation directly.
- Look for the logo on the company’s website and booking confirmation.
- Ask what is covered, including your deposit and your full payment.
- Read the terms and cancellation policy before you pay.
- Keep your paperwork, including confirmations, receipts and emails.
- Consider paying by credit card, which can offer extra protection.
- Be wary of vague answers or deals that look too good to be true.
