ROUTE NOTES

INSIDE THE ROADS WE CHOOSE.

The best driving roads are rarely defined by speed alone. We look for rhythm, visibility, surface, elevation and the way a road works with the landscape. Route Notes looks at the details behind the roads we choose — and why some routes simply drive better than others.

ROAD TYPE

MOUNTAIN PASSES

Elevation changes, technical sections, open sightlines and surfaces that reward a measured approach.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

RHYTHM OVER SPEED

A great road should flow. Corners, gradients and straights should work together naturally, rewarding smooth positioning rather than outright pace.

ROUTE GT PRINCIPLE

DRIVE THE PLACE

The road should reveal the destination — its landscape, character and geography — rather than simply provide the quickest way through it.
